The Ultimate Georgia Wine Tour Guide Is Here—And Anyone Can Do It

I love wine. I love the smell of it. I love the way it makes me feel. I love to enjoy it with friends and family. I got a little secret for ya... Georgia has some of the best vineyards in the country! Yep, that's right... The northern part of the state has been labeled "The Napa Valley of The South."  Folks will travel all across the country for the vineyards in California. Why not visit Georgia?  I've made a guide to help you along the way. Go ahead and say, Thanks Will!

You can visit these vineyards anytime throughout the year. Most of the vineyards are only open from Thursday to Sunday. If you are starting from the city of Atlanta, the vineyards are about 1.5 - 2hrs away. You can enjoy tasting at each vineyard for about 30-50 minutes and head off to the others vineyards that are in the area. This trip will take about 6-8 hrs to complete, that's if you plan to visit all of the vineyards in the area.   Here's your guide to the best vineyards in the area. You can also click the map right here, if you are ready for a wine tasting adventure! Let's do this...

Three Sisters Winery & Vineyard is owned by three wonderful ladies and this vineyard is beautiful. A dirt road takes you to the vineyard and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Three Sisters is next door to Frogtown Vineyards. The vineyard sits on acres of farmland, and a lake is off in the distant. You can bring your own food here and enjoy wine with family and friends.

Wolf Mountain Vineyard

Wolf Mountain Vineyard is one of my favorite vineyards in the North Georgia Mountains. This place is paradise! You can see the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains if you are on the patio. During the Fall season, the property looks like an art masterpiece. The leaves are vibrant oranges, yellows and reds and the winery sits on top of the hill with breathtaking views. Oh, and be sure to try the gourmet pizzas and take pictures in the chapel.

Cavender Creek Vineyard

As you enter Cavender Creek you'll see free range chickens running along the road and livestock near the vineyard. Cavender Creek is a working farm and vineyard with the best vibes of country life. They even have Wine Slushies that are a hit! Sit on the patio during the weekends and enjoy live music as you sip on their full-bodied wines.

Frogtown Vineyard

Imagine yourself sitting on a patio taking in this view? Well, at Frogtown this is exactly the view you'll get if you're sipping wine on the back deck. Frogtown sits on a high hill overlooking a small lake in the middle of the vineyard. They have a variety of wines to choose from. Try their Muscadine wines and relax with your friends on the deck.

Serenity Cellars

Serenity Cellars sits in a small valley and the grapes grow on an inclined hill. This vineyard is tucked away in the forest and it's very peaceful. The staff here are always excited to have guests. Every Friday night, you can bring your own pizza ingredients and they'll cook it in the wood burning oven for you. It's Free! My favorite wine at this vineyard was the 'Barely Sweet.' Tell'em Will sent ya!

When you are here, you'll feel like you're in Tuscany and the South at the same time. This vineyard offers a full winery, restaurant and event space. Many people around the Southeast flock to this vineyard for their amazing wines and to take in the views of the land.

Yonah Mountain Vineyard sits own a 200-acre family vineyard. A large open field with mountain views makes this vineyard unique. You can try Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Malbec and many more beautiful wines. Yonah Mountain is one of the newer vineyards in the area.

Habersham Vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in the state. They've constantly produced award winning wines. Habersham is open daily unlike many of the vineyards listed above. The gift shop at the vineyard offers gourmet foods, exotic cheese and crackers for you to snack on while you indulge in their wide array of wines.
