Unwind In Mexico's Most Beautiful Blue River Overlooking The Mountains

Have you been here before? Probably not. You are probably thinking... Is this Mexico? Yes, and it's beautiful!  Las Grutas Tolantongo is one of the most beautiful destinations in Mexico and it's definitely a hidden gem. It's not a waterpark, an escape that's created by nature and the locals flock here during the Summer months to unwind and relax. 

Swim in the heated pools on the side of the mountains. 

If you are into nature and adventurous like myself, this is the place to go. Put it on your bucket list NOW! Las Grutas Tolantongo is also known as Tolantongo Caves. The entire area would take you few days to get through and it's all worth it. In order to get here, you'll have to fly into Mexico City and take a taxi or local bus to get to Tolantongo. I had an adventrous road trip that included a 2 hour Uber ride and hopping into several Collectivos. Collectivos are vans that transport locals all across the country. 

The pools are filled with warm water from the river and drained each day. The warm waters are heated underground by the surrounding volcanos in the area.
